NASHIK: Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse said here today that the government firmly supports farmers who have been suffering excess rain, hailstorm, and drought.

"We are adopting various schemes like Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS), both on temporary or permanent basis to create self-confidence among them," Khadse said.

Addressing a government officials of different departments, including Nashik Collector, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer as well as Nashik BJP MLAs Devyani Pharande and Balasaheb Sanap, Khadse reviewed the situation in Nashik district.

He said that while giving priority to farmers, the government is also trying to give them benefits of the national horticulture scheme, crop insurance, loan waiver scheme, electricity bills waiver and water conservation projects.
