The Maharashtra government has roped in Magnus Bocker and Chanda Kochhar as part of a task force to create an international finance centre (IFC) at the BKC.

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government has roped in Nasdaq's former president Magnus Bocker and ICICI Bank's managing director Chanda Kochhar as part of a task force to create an international finance centre (IFC) at the Bandra-Kurla Complex ( BKC).

On Thursday, Union minister of state for finance Jayant Sinha, Mumbai MP Poonam Mahajan are scheduled to meet Bocker, Kochhar and top state officials such as principal secretary to chief minister Pravin Pardeshi and OSD Kaustubh Dhavse to brainstorm over the master plan for the financial centre.

Other members of the task force include Bank of Baroda MD PS Jayaku mar, well known architect Rahul Mehrotra, Nish Shetty, partner & head of international arbitration and dispute resolution at Clifford Chance Asia and actor Amitabh Bachchan.

The state government officials said that each member of the task force has been given separate responsibility.Kochhar will be giving a presentation on how BKC could partner as a sister city with New York or Singapore to develop complimenting business at BKC.
