Maharashtra government not to issue tenders for road projects till 90% land is acquired
"We have decided that unless 90 per cent of land acquisition is not completed, no tenders for projects will be issued," Patil said.
PWD Minister Chandrakant Patil said delays in completion of road projects, including construction of new roads and expansion of existing ones, result in cost escalations due to hurdles in land acquisition.
"We have decided that unless 90 per cent of land acquisition is not completed, no tenders for projects will be issued," he said.
Meanwhile, at a meeting of road connectivity review, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asked the authorities to bring transparency in toll collection.
Chief Minister said he had received complaints about irregularities like bogus receipts at the toll plazas.
Fadnavis stressed on the need for proper training to staff at toll plazas to interact with commuters. He also asked the administration to expedite road development works.
