MUMBAI: Maharashtra government has decided to cancel allotment of Shivneri bungalow adjacent to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' official residence 'Varsha', to him.

The government has decided to cancel the allotment of the bungalow to the Chief Minister, a government resolution dated April 22 said.

"This bungalow will now be available for allotment to other ministers," it said.

After the BJP government was sworn-in on October 31, Fadnavis had been allotted two bungalows: the 12,000-sq ft Varsha, his official residence, and the adjoining Shivneri, which was to serve as his office after being spruced up.

Fadnavis' predecessor Prithviraj Chavan used Torna bungalow, which is in the same neighbourhood, as his office.
