Coronavirus India case count rises to 137, Maharashtra is the new epicentre

MUMBAI: With cases reaching 137 in India, Maharashtra has emerged as the new epicentre of the dreaded novel coronavirus.

Earlier in the day, a 64-year-old man from Mumbai became the first victim of coronavirus in the state as the number of COVID-19 cases in the state is witnessing an exponential rise. With the four fresh cases coming to the fore, the number of total COVID-19 cases from Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has risen to 13 from the nine on Sunday.


Meanwhile, the Mumbai civic body has decided to display awareness messages about coronavirus infection on around 1200 hoardings in the city for the next ten days, beginning from Monday.
