A day after ET reported about Congress MLAs wanting to meet Sonia Gandhi to complain about Congress ministers in the MVA government turning a deaf ear to all their concerns, Nana Patole admitted that there were certain issues to be ironed out.
"In a three-party government, there will be some issues. As far as Congress MLAs meeting the Congress president is concerned, whether it is the MLAs or any other functionary, if they express a desire to meet their party leader, then I don't think it's wrong. There is no reason for any misunderstanding," Patole told reporters in Pune.
On being asked whether the MLAs' complaints had reached him, he said, "in a family there is happiness and sometimes sorrow. The MLAs tell us whatever is happening, but that does not mean that the MLAs are angry. MLAs are working in their constituencies and districts to strengthen the party machinery."
Meanwhile, Patole has written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray asking him to implement the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) agreed to during the formation of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. He said the government should implement projects for Muslims and Dalits.
