MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today returned after a week-long official tour of the US, to which he led a delegation to attract investments in the state.

Fadnavis left for US on June 29. A controversy had erupted during his tour following reports that the Air India flight in which he was travelling to New York had to be delayed as Principal Secretary in Chief Ministers' Office Pravin Pardeshi had forgotten his visa.

Fadnavis, who was accused of delaying the flight as he refused to travel without his delegation, rejected the charge and had threatened to file a criminal defamation suit on his return.

The chief minister addressed several meetings with trade and business houses in the United States, visited Google and General Motors headquarters among others during the trip.

He also addressed the Brihan Maharashtra Mandal convention in Los Angeles on July 3.
