MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today described the national cleanliness campaign as a people's movement.

The Chief Minister wielded the broom at Girgaon chowpatty here as part of this drive, under the ' Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'.

The Ganesh idol immersion ended at the chowpatty in wee hours today.

He also urged citizens to participate in the drive in large numbers.

Fadnavis said a large army of 'swachhta' (cleanliness) volunteers would be raised through the campaign.
