Maharahtra projects may be deferred for polls

The Election commission has announced dates for polling to be held for 10 big cities--including Mumbai, Pune and Thane--in Maharahtra.

Voting for some 1162 seats across the state will take place on February 1, 2007. With the code of conduct coming into force with immediate effect, many high-profile infrastructure projects in the state may face a prolonged wait.
