Mumbai: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis sounded the bugle for the Bharatiya Janata Party's campaign for the upcoming civic polls in the state comparing India's success in Operation Sindoor to that of the Gokulashtami celebrations.

"You are aware that in Operation Sindoor our army entered into Pakistan and broke their papachi handi (pot of sin) and under Modi ji's leadership we will break the pot of development and ensure that the fruits of this would go to the most backward," Fadnavis said addressing a crowd in Bhiwandi on the outskirts of Mumbai.

Fadnavis was invited to a number of mandals in Mumbai and in Thane.
