MUMBAI: Sheetal Mafatlal, President of Mafatlal Luxury, has been arrested on Monday for allegedly carrying undisclosed jewellery and diamonds worth several lakhs of rupees.
Mafatlal, who was yesterday detained upon arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport, has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Customs Act and will be produced before a Magistrate's court.
The Customs officials have intercepted the noted socialite at the airport on specific information and recovered undisclosed jewellery estimated to be between Rs 51 lakh and one crore from her bag.
Exact value of the recovered ornaments is yet to be ascertained.
