BHOPAL: A fair price shop salesman with a salary of Rs 1,200 has turned out to be a crorepati, revealed a Lokayukta raid on his house.

Suresh Prasad Pandey ,a resident of Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district has been charged with a disproportionate assets case after officials discovered properties and gold ornaments worth crores, including a double-barrel gun and four vehicles - a Bolero, an Alto, Activa bike and a Honda Shine motorcycle.

The raids led by two Lokayukta officials, Surendra Singh and Devesh Pathak, revealed that the salesman owned properties worth more than 200 times his total earned salary

Speaking to TOI, SP Lokayukta, Rewa, T K Vidyarthi said, "These raids were conducted following complaints of disproportionate assets. Several documents have been seized and raids are not over."

Pandey has eight bank accounts, including those in the name of his wife and son.
