INDORE: Congress MP from Mandsour Meenakshi Natrajan, who is said to be close to the party vice president Rahul Gandhi, was locked in a room on Thursday afternoon by her party workers in protest against the denial of ticket to Rajkumar Ahir from Jawad assembly constituency. Jawad is in Neemuch district and 270 km from Indore.

The Congress party workers gheraoed the MP and locked her in a room, where she went for a cover. The Congress party workers accused the MP and state election campaign head Jyotiraditya Scindia of being bias in distributing the ticket. The Congress Party fielded Raghuraj Chordia, who had lost from Neemuch by about 20,000 votes in 2008 elections.

"It is handy work of Scindia and Natrajan to deny me the ticket," said Rajkumar Ahir over phone to TOI. He added that he has been working in Jawad constituency ever since he lost the 2008 assembly elections by 4700 votes. Ahir said that he would contest the election as an independent candidate, if his party fails to resolve the issue in next 24 hours.
