Madhya Pradesh NSUI head Vipin Wankhede resigns
INDORE: Alleging unfair distribution of tickets by the Congress in the local body elections, National Students Union of India (NSUI) Madhya Pradesh unit's president Vipin Wankhede resigned from his post here today.

"I have sent my resignation to the NSUI National President Roji John in protest against overlooking interests of the students' wing workers," Wankhede told PTI.

"The NSUI workers were totally overlooked by the state party leadership in distribution of tickets for the local body elections which resulted in resentment among them. Therefore, in view of that I have resigned from the post," he said.

Wankhede denied that he will join any other political party or contest the polls as rebel in the ensuing elections.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Spokesman K K Mishra has issued a statement that some leaders and workers are playing such gimmicks to hit headlines and are only hurting the party sentiment.

Hence, resignation of such workers would be accepted merely based on the media reports, it said.
