Madhya Pradesh Bhoj University to confer D.Litt on Atal Bihari Vajpayee

BHOPAL: Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be conferred a honorary D.Litt degree by Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University for his contribution in the fields of politics, education, literature and social life among others.

The decision to confer the honour on Vajapayee was taken by the University in July 2014, but it will be formally handed over to him tomorrow at his residence in New Delhi, MPBOU Vice Chancellor Tariq Zafar told PTI.

MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will personally hand over the honorary D.Lit degree to the former PM, he added.

MP Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta, Minister of State for Higher Education Deepak Joshi, Lok-Sabha member Alok Sanjar, and other members of the state cabinet and the varsity's VC will also be present on the occasion.
