Madhya Pradesh Assembly special session: Tributes paid to A P J Abdul Kalam, others
As the House assembled for the day, Speaker Sitasharan Sharma mentioned about the death of Kalam and others following which tributes were paid to them.

The tributes were paid on commencement of the day-long special session of the Assembly, organised to obtain House sanction for providing enhanced relief to drought-hit farmers in the state.

The House also paid tributes to former MPs Parasram Bharadwaj, Suhklal Kushwaha (BSP), noted wrestler and former MLA Ratan Patodi, famous musician Ravindra Jain, victims of Harda train mishap and the Petlawad blast.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said Kalam was a selfless person who was very popular among the people, especially among children.
"India's second nuclear test at Pokhran was not possible without his valuable contribution. He was more popular than any politician of the country," Chouhan said as Leader of the House.
He made immense contribution in enhancing the country's defence mechanism by developing missiles like 'Prithvi' and 'Agni'. People like him are born only once in ages, he added.
After Leader of Opposition and members of parties paid tributes to Kalam and others, the House observed a two-minute silence. Later, the Speaker adjourned the House for 10 minutes as a mark of respect to them.
