Lt Gen A Chakravarty takes over DG NCC

NEW DELHI: Lt Gen Aniruddha Chakravarty has taken over as the chief of the National Cadet Corps - the premier youth organisation.

An alumnus of National Defence Academy, he was commissioned in the Rajput Regiment of the Army in December 1976 and has had a distinguished career in the armed forces.

A graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Lt Gen Chakravarty has done important courses including the prestigious NDC course here.

The General has also been the Chief Operations Officer and National Senior at UNIFIL in Lebanon. He succeeded Lt Gen P S Bhalla, who retired on November 30.
