LS polls 2014: Election Commission to provide an additional female security officer to women candidates
NEW DELHI: With women increasingly facing security issues during their political campaign ahead of Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission (EC) has decided to provide an additional female security officer to all such candidates in future.

The Commission said it took the decision taking into account the “social perspectives” and the safety and security of women candidates. This move comes in wake of harassment faced by actor Nagma during a rally in Meerut recently. The actor, who is contesting on a Congress ticket, was also grabbed and forcibly kissed by her own party member Gajraj Singh.
