LS polls 2014: Assam CM Tarun Gogoi criticises Narendra Modi
Assam CM Tarun Gogoi on Thursday said the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi wanted American-style corporate rule in India.

The Congress has moved the Election Commission after EVMs in the Jorhat constituency during mock poll showed all votes cast in favour of the BJP. Earlier, regional parties in the North East, including the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), had raised questions on voting machines being tampered with.
Gogoi said Modi wanted to bring a corporate rule like America, which is dangerous for democracy, adding that The BJP is deeply entrenched in corporate culture. "I saw Modi in Jorhat recently... he is going to every election meeting in a private jet. Who is financing it? This belongs to Adanis," he said.
"Everything about Modi is designer,” he smirked. Gogoi claimed that Modi had appointed PR professionals from abroad to manage his publicity for the Lok Sabha elections.
"His PR is being handled by an American company. His waistcoat, hairstyle, shoes and spectacles — everything is by designers. All of these are sponsored by corporates. I am happy to fight against Modi. He is the BJP’s god. A simple man like me is fighting with the God."
Modi held nine rallies in the North East in the last two months, out of which at least five were in Assam.
