The driver of the lorry, proceeding to Madurai from Mangalore, lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve which resulted in the accident.

LPG tanker lorry capsizes near Malappuram
KOZHIKODE: Vehicular traffic on Palakkad - Kozhikode national highways was disrupted for a few hours today after a tanker lorry carrying LPG capsized at Aripara in Malappuram district, police said.

The driver of the lorry, proceeding to Madurai from Mangalore, lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve which resulted in the accident.

The driver and cleaner of the lorry were treated for minor injuries suffered in the accident.

People living nearby areas were evacuated to safer places following the gas leak, they said, adding, three fire tenders from the district head quarters were rushed to the spot.

Experts from IOC's Chelari plant rushed to the accident spot and plugged the leakage.

Traffic has been restored now, police said.
