Low-key launch for Jagan’s party

The function had in attendance the family members except YSR’s brothers who are now sailing with the ruling Congress party.

Hyderabad: Thanks to the model code of conduct in place for the legislative council elections to take place on Sunday, the much-hyped launch of YSR Congress, the political party floated by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, was a low-key affair on Saturday.

Amid family members and supporters, Jagan announced the launch of YSR (Yuvajana, Sramika and Rythu) Congress party and unveiled the party flag.

The flag has bands of blue, white and green with YSR at the centre.

According to Jagan, blue symbolizes dynamism of youth, white is for peace and green for agriculture.

The flag was hoisted at exactly 2.29 pm at the family estate in Idupulapaya where YSR was buried. Jagan declared that the motto of his party is to spread a smile on the faces of the people, including the last man in society . ‘‘ The YSR Congress party would strive for ensuring a smile on every poor man’s face,’’ said Jagan.

The function had in attendance the family members except YSR’s brothers who are now sailing with the ruling Congress party.
