LoP Suvendu Adhikari lashes out at TMC govt, claims permission denied for his political programmes
In a recent development, Bharatiya Janata Party's Leader of Opposition (LoP), Suvendu Adhikari, has voiced his apprehension regarding the challenges he faces in carrying out his political programs in West Bengal. Adhikari highlighted his predicame...

“I am LoP and MLA. The state government tried to prevent me from doing my political programmes in the last 2.5 years. I have been denied approval for my political programmes which are part of my Constitutional responsibility and I am subject to harassment. I have approached court earlier and sought permission for my programmes after such denials,” Adhikari said.
" In more than 70 cases, I had to seek court permission from the court ahead of my political or religious programmes. At every point, I am prevented by the state administration and denied permission...So I have come to court to file a fresh writ petition on the issue." Adhikari said.
Adhikari was denied police permission in Arambag's Kotulpur recently to attend a post-Durga Puja Bijoya Sammilani (assembly), followed by Bankura where he was also denied permission.
Lashing out at Kolkata Police, Adhikari said, "Kolkata Police, which was once compared with Scotland Yard, has deteriorated. Now it can be called Mamata Police. We have been tormented by them in various ways. I have been garlanded with innumerable cases."
