HYDERABAD: The lone MP of Majlis-e Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) said on Sunday that he would vote in favour of UPA government during the trial of strength in Lok Sabha on July 22.

"Our basic aim is to stop the BJP from coming to power," Asaduddin Owaisi said. MIM is a constituent of the UPA but Owaisi had been holding his cards close to his chest.

Owaisi said the stand has been taken after going into all aspects of the Indo-US nuclear deal "which is in no way against a particular community". "Some parties are trying to bring division between Muslims and other communities on the issue, which is not acceptable," he said.
