Lokayukta police raid bank cashier's home, unearths Rs 1.4 crore
The police are examining documents recovered during the raid to ascertain the cashier's investments and deposits in bank lockers.

"We have seized documents which indicate that Jagdish Sullere, a cashier at the district co-operative bank, owns 26 farm lands and residential plots worth more than Rs 50 lakh, two houses valued at Rs 60 lakh," Lokayukta Inspector Santosh Jamra said.
He said the raid was conducted at Sullere's Virendra Colony residence.
"Besides, we seized Rs 1.50 lakh cash, jewellery worth about Rs 25 lakh and found the accused in possession of Rs 5-6 lakh worth of household items," he said.
The police are examining documents recovered during the raid to ascertain the cashier's investments and deposits in bank lockers, the Inspector said.
He said the raid was conducted following a complaint that the accused was "making money through corrupt practices".
A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation is on, he said.
