Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan to inaugurate Orientation Programme for new MPs

NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will inaugurate the two-day Orientation Programme for the first-time members of the Lok Sabha in Parliament House Annexe tomorrow.

The Orientation Programme seeks to help members to familiarise themselves with various procedural devices and related themes, like "How to be an Effective Parliamentarian?; Question Hour in Parliament; Procedural Devices to Raise Matters in the House; and Support Services to Members."

Among those who will address the new MPs at the programme include Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj, Ananthkumar, Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes of Congress and LS MP Bhartruhari Mahatab (BJD), and former Union Minister Ram Naik.
