Oppn MPs’ suspension revoked; LS focuses on constructive work
New Delhi: Marking the end of an acrimonious chapter, the Lok Sabha on Tuesday revoked the suspension of eight Opposition MPs (in place since February 3). The House unanimously adopted a motion to that effect, with both the ruling and Opposition sides assuring Speaker Om Birla of their commitment to uphold the dignity of Parliament.

The process began when Congress chief whip Kodikunnil Suresh "expressed regret" on behalf of Opposition parties over the unsavoury protests that had led to the suspensions, and requested the chair to revoke them.

Dharmendra Yadav (SP) and Supriya Sule (NCP-SP) also affirmed the Opposition's commitment to constructive functioning, while urging the ruling side to avoid aggressive countering.
