Lok Sabha polls may be advanced to December or January, says West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday said the Lok Sabha elections may be advanced to December or January, and urged people to save the country by coming together under the INDIA banner to oust BJP. "We will fight together to oust BJP from power... If it comes to power again, BJP will turn the country into an autocracy and there will be only one party in the country and the Constitution will cease to exist," she said while addressing a rally organised on Trinamool Chhatra Parishad's Foundation Day.

"I have not seen such a vindictive government. Yesterday, I received a message from someone who said that Abhishek Banerjee will be arrested before 2024. We have got proof that all documents were put into his computer during the probe," she alleged. ED is probing a case in connection with Sujay Krishna Bhadra, one of the key accused in the school job scam. "They have retrieved some files from the computer and planted their own files there. We have also extracted all the evidence of planting files... A general diary has also been filed in the matter," she said.
