Lok Sabha Polls: Capt. Amarinder Singh files nomination

AMRITSAR: Congress candidate from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat, Capt. Amarinder Singh filed his nomination papers here today.

Accompanied by his wife Parneet Kaur and several Congress leaders, the former Punjab Chief Minister filed his papers before Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat in the District Court complex.

Singh is pitted against senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley from the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat.

Senior Congress leader Gurjit Singh Rana filed papers as the covering candidate for Singh.

Amritsar goes to poll on April 30, along with Punjab's 12 other constituencies.
