Lok Sabha polls 2014: Manmohan Singh to cast vote in Guwahati on April 24

GUWAHATI: Facing criticism for not casting vote during 2011 assembly polls, Prime minister, Manmohan Singh will cast his vote in Guwahati on April 24.

Dr Singh along with his wife Gurucharan Singh will arrive in Guwahati on April 24 to exercise their franchise. Dr Singh who is Rajya Sabha MP from Assam since 1991 is a voter of Dispur constituency under the Guwahati Lok Sabha seat.

Dr Singh cast his vote in 2009 polls. Senior Superintendent of Police of Guwahati AP Tiwari while confirming the coming of Singh couple said that elaborate security arrangement will be put in place after discussing it with the Special Protection Guard.

Dr Singh and his wife will cast their votes in the Dispur Government Higher Secondary School. Dr Singh had missed the ballot in 2006 assembly polls.
