Lok Sabha polls 2014: Congress leader Ahmed Patel accuses Narendra Modi of spying on him
AHMEDABAD: Congress President Sonia Gandhi's political advisor Ahmed Patel alleged here today that BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is spying on him to find out about his movements.

"I am happy that he (Modi) keeps a record of my movements. This means he snoops on others and he is spying on me as well," Patel alleged when asked a question about Narendra Modi's allegation that Sonia Gandhi's close aide is involved in a hawala racket.

While answering the question, Patel also referred to the 'snoopgate' episode in which some Gujarat government functionaries were allegedly involved.

Campaigning for the Congress at Ranipada area of Dediyapada town of Bharuch Lok Sabha seat, Patel's remarks are seen as a counterattack against Modi's claim that one of Sonia Gandhi's confidante is allegedly involved in a hawala racket involving companies exporting mutton.

Addressing a meeting in Bharuch in Gujarat yesterday, Modi had alleged that an unnamed "close confidante" is involved in a multi-crore hawala racket.

Modi had said the Central Government's Income Tax department had recently raided 60 firms involved in mutton export, which allegedly had links to the "close confidante".
