Lok Sabha polls 2014: Congress, BJP accuse each other for Babri Masjid sting video

NEW DELHI: Congress and BJP on Friday pointed fingers at each other for a new sting video that showed BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders boasting about how the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition was planned.

Launching an attack on BJP and Sangh, Congress said a party which claims to be nationalist tried to damage the secular fabric of the country in the name of religion. “They have no concern for unity and integrity of the country. To further their political interest they can go to any levels.

Like Naxals, they had set up a training camp in Gujarat to train people. They had provided dynamite and petrol bombs. They had kept the nation at stake for the sake of power....Modi is the leader of the pack,” Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said.

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, questioned the timing and motive of the sting carried out by news portal Cobrapost and alleged that it was meant to take the attention away from the UPA government’s failures. “This sting operation is Congress sponsored and is meant to divert attention from the main issues in this election. It is not Cobrapost but Congress Post,” he said.
