Lok Sabha polls 2014: Can upbeat BJP bag Congress’ royal bastion in Madhya Pradesh?

BHOPAL: More than 1.67 crore people will exercise their franchise in MP during the second phase in 10 constituencies on April 17. These include Gwalior and the Chambal region.

Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is contesting from Guna-Shivpuri against BJP’s Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya while Narayan Singh Amlabe of Congress is pitted against BJP’s Rod Mal Nagar in Rajgarh , where AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh is backing the Congress candidate.

BJP is trying to make inroads in these two constituencies . CM Chouhan addressed a dozen meetings in Guna and Rajgarh. These two seats are considered among the four major hurdles to Shivraj’s Mission 29 — a BJP term implying the party’s dash to win all 29 LS seats in MP. The other two are Kamal Nath’s Chhindwara that went to poll on April 10 and Jhabua of Kantilal Bhuria where polling is on April 24.
