Lok Sabha Polls 2014: BJP president Rajnath Singh confident of 300 seats
VARANASI: BJP president Rajnath Singh on Saturday evening made what could well be the party’s last pitch for votes in a public event by a major leader. Addressing a press conference at Hotel Surya, which has been the temporary campaign office of BJP’s key strategists, Singh appealed to the voters to “give us a clear majority for ensuring a stable government.”

Realizing that this limited appeal could be read in different ways, he was quick to add that “…though we are confident of getting a clear majority in parliament — even the national and international surveys are saying this.

So we expect that the party reaches the 300 figure on its own and the NDA crosses well past this number.” Singh sought to clarify that the BJP “does not feel the need to indulge in communal politics and the reason for this is that in the elections to five states some months ago, we fought only on the agenda of development and good governance and won.”
