Guwahati: There is but unusual rush to reach home. Thousands of employees engaged in private sector and working in Guwahati have rushed back to Northern and Upper Assam as the five Lok Sabha constituencies of Tezpur, Koliabor, Jorhat, Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur are witnessing brisk polling.

In an unprecedented move morning rush is witness in polling booths. Large of number of women are seen coming out to vote in different areas to vote. BJP state president and candidate for Lakhimpur Lok Sabha, Sarbananda Sonowal cast his vote in Dibrugarh constituency.

Sonowal said, "We have been able to assure the voters the need for change and Lotus will bloom in Assam."
