MUMBAI: No final decision has been taken yet on the quantum of seats to be shared by Congress and NCP in Maharashtra for the ensuing elections, state unit president Manikrao Thakre said here today.

"The central leadership will take the final decision on the seat sharing issue," Thakre said, after a meeting of MPCC office-bearers attended by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.

In 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Congress had fielded candidates from 26 of the total 48 seats in the state, leaving 22 for NCP.

However, a final decision is yet to be taken on this 26:22 formula for this year's polls, he said.
