Lok Sabha adjourned for 15 minutes for lack of quorum
NEW DELHI: In an embarrassment to the ruling NDA, the Lok Sabha had to be adjourned for some time today because of lack of quorum.

While most Opposition parties are boycotting the proceedings and their benches remaining empty, the BJP benches also wore a deserted look when the the House assembled after the lunch break.

The proceedings could not begin as there was no quorum, which is 10 per cent of the 543-member Lok Sabha.

Although the quorum bell kept on ringing, the NDA's floor managers could not manage sufficient members in the House.

After about ten minutes, the Secretary General announced that as per the instructions of the Speaker the House was being adjourned for fifteen minutes and would meet again at 1525 hours.

The proceedings resumed after the BJP floor managers gathered more members for the remaining part of the day's proceedings, including the private members' business.
