LF slams bypoll on Sept 16c

PURULIA: Left Front on Sunday criticised the Election Commission for holding the Purulia Lok Sabha by-election on September 16 as it is clashing with a popular festival of the district which will be celebrated on September 15.

“Bhaduporab, a very popular festival of Purlia will be celebrated on September 15. The people of the district will be busy celebrating the festival on 15th and on the very next day the Lok Sabha by-election,” Left Front chairman Biman Bose told a meeting here.

Bose, also the CPM state secretary, asked the people to send large number of letters to the Election Commission asking for a change in the date of the by-election as it is clashing with the Bhaduporab festival.
