NEW DELHI: The Left parties will press for a debate on agrarian crisis and price rise during the Budget Session of Parliament beginning on Monday.
"This is an important session and we would demand for a discussion on Agrarian crisis leading to the suicide of farmers and price rise which is directly affecting the common men," CPI(M) leader Basudev Acharya said today after a luncheon meeting hosted by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee here.
However, the party criticised any attempt by the opposition to disrupt the House saying, "many important issues concerning the masses are to be discussed and answered by the government."
The meeting was attended by non-NDA, non-Congress parties including Ajit Singh of Rashtriya Lok Dal, Ram Gopal Yadav of Samajwadi Party, Jaiprakash Yadav of RJD and Joachim Baxla of RSP apart from Acharya.
