Left leaders meet PM on N-deal

NEW DELHI: Leaders of the Left parties, which have rejected the Indo-US nuclear deal, on Tuesday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and discussed issues arising out of the agreement.

Singh had a breakfast meeting with CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat, who has taken a tough stance on the deal.

This meeting was followed by another meeting the Prime Minister had with CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan.

The government is expected to make a formal statement on the issue shortly.
