Left Front warns of anarchy in West Bengal
The Left Front today reminded the administration in West Bengal of its duty to protect people, saying safety and security of its cadres was in peril.

"The administration has to ensure safety and security of the people. If it does not perform its duty then the situation may lead to anarchy," Left Front Chairman Biman Bose told newspersons here after visiting a couple of affected villages where he claimed supporters and cadres were attacked.
"We visited Puin and Jagatsingchak villages in Arambag in Hooghly district and saw the violence perpetrated on our people. People have been beaten up, their houses ransacked or burnt," he said.
Bose, a CPI(M) Politburo member, alleged that the ruling TMC workers were targetting those areas where it has got less votes than the Left in the Lok Sabha elections.
He said that in a democratic set-up, one has to accept the people's choice and not settle scores by perpetrating violence upon opponents. "We have lost (Lok Sabha polls) getting lesser votes, so what? We have to accept this," he said referring to the CPI(M) -led Left Front's debacle in the Lok Sabha election in which it bagged only two out of 42 seats. "It (losing) does not feel nice, but we have to accept the people's verdict," Bose said.
