Left, Congress should unite to fight communal forces: CPI
"Youngsters should have freedom which in turn would make them live in harmony in the society. Curtailing their freedom will not help in anything," the CPI leader said.

"Considering the outcome of elections in the recent past, left parties alone would not be able to fight the growing communal forces in the country. Democratic parties like Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) among others, should unite for it," Narayana said.
During the recently concluded CPI's national executive council meeting, it was decided that a conclave of all left parties and democratic parties be held in the coming months, he said.
Alleging Adityanath Yogi's elevation as Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh a threat to secularism and democracy, Narayana said, "Shutting down of abattoirs has caused an economic crisis in the state and have affected people involved in the supply chain".
Besides, the anti-Romeo squads have "threatened" the youngsters in the state, he said.
"Youngsters should have freedom which in turn would make them live in harmony in the society. Curtailing their freedom will not help in anything," the CPI leader said.
On the result of recent assembly elections, he said, "BJP got majority only in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, where as in Manipur and Goa it was because of unholy practises and with support of Governor a government was formed."
