Leaves cancelled, task force formed after Metro disruption
NEW DELHI: A day after snags disrupted metro services on Red Line, the leaves of DMRC staff have been cancelled during the odd-even scheme period till April 30 and a five-member task force formed to deal with any emergency.

Transport Minister Gopal Rai made the announcements after a review meeting at the metro headquarters here which was attended by senior officials of the Delhi Metro.

"Leaves of all metro officials stand cancelled during the odd-even period. A five-member task force has been formed to deal with any emergency situation," Rai tweeted.

The snapping of overhead wire at four places between Kashmere Gate and Shastri Park stations had thrown services on the Red Line out of gear for several hours yesterday leaving thousands of passengers stranded.

The 23 km-long Red Line or Line 1 connects east Delhi's Dilshad Garden to Rithala, located in the north west part of the city.
