Large-scale arson erupts in Assam's Karbi Anglong district

Railway tracks were damaged between Diphu and Doldoli which forced police to fire. DIG of Assam police, P.C Saloi told ET, “Situation is tense as there are sporadic incidents of violence. Diphu town is under curfew.”
Normal life was hit by a 10-hour Dima Hasao district bandh called by the Hills State Democratic Party. Even normal life was affected in Lower Assam on Thursday following 36 hour bandh called by Biswajit faction of All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union. Bandh turned violent as government run buses torched in different places.
