Ignoring threats by militants, a large number of youth turned up for jobs in the Indian army in the frontier district of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir.

SRINAGAR: Ignoring threats by militants, a large number of youth turned up for jobs in the Indian army in the frontier district of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir.

The army recruiting office, Srinagar, Jalandhar cantonment is currently organizing an army open recruitment rally in Kupwara district.

Militant outfits have warned locals not to join the army and other paramilitary forces.

There has been an overwhelming response to the recruitment at Kupwara as 1974 candidates reported till may 15. As many as 646 tokens have been issued after checking their preliminary documents for eligibility in the army.
