Landslide in Himachal buries vehicles, death toll rises

At least 46 people were killed and several others got injured after a massive landslide swept away two buses in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi District. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who visited the site earlier in the day, has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh each for next of kin of the deceased. Meanwhile, rescue operation, which continued till last night, has been stopped because of incessant rain.
