MEDININAGAR: The officials concerned of Palamau division were today asked to update land records within two months to minimise land disputes.

The direction was given by Chief Secretary R S Sharma during a review meeting of developmental works in the division comprising Maoist-affected Palamau, Latehar and Garhwah with the senior government official saying updating of land records would minimise land disputes.

Development and security measures complement each other as security was necessary to implement developmental projects, he told reporters here.

Jharkhand police chief Rajeev Kumar, who was also present in the meeting along with CRPF IG M V Rao, said there would not be any respite till Naxalism was rooted out.

"Intelligence network is being strengthened further," Kumar told the media.

The state police was continuously being modernised, he said, adding efforts were continuing to bring the misguided youth back to the mainstream.
