Land acquisition row: Nine villages ready to negotiate with Greather Noida Authority
"The panchayat has decided that we will not talk to the builders. We will negotiate only with the Authority," said a spokesperson for the farmers.
At a 'mahapanchayat' (grand assembly) held at Roza Yakoobpur village, the farmers claimed that builders were contacting them individually and offering different packages.
"The panchayat has decided that we will not talk to the builders. We will negotiate only with the Authority," said Dushyant Nagar, a spokesperson for the farmers.
On July 6, the Superme Court had quashed the acquisition of over 156 hectares of farm land by the Greater Noida Authority.
The court passed the order on a petition filed by the Authority and real estate developers and builders, including Supertech and Amrapali, challenging the Allahabad High Court order which had quashed the notifications for land acquisition in Greater Noida adjoining the national capital.
Meanwhile, some farmers have moved Allahabad High Court seeking a CBI inquiry into allotments to builders.
The writ petition, which was filed on Friday, will come up for hearing on July 19.
"Only a CBI enquiry will bring out the truth behind the whole acuistion and allotments to private builders. It will expose Authority-builder nexus," said petitioner Inder Nagar.
