Lalu Prasad Yadav predicts fall of Modi government by August, urges party workers to prepare for elections

Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has called on his party workers to gear up for possible early elections, predicting the fall of the Modi government by August. Yadav stated that the current government in Delhi is very weak and could collapse soon.

"I appeal to all party workers to be ready, as elections can happen anytime. Modi's government in Delhi is very weak and it can fall by August..." RJD chief said on party's foundation day event.

The Nitish Kumar-Narendra Modi coalition (National Democratic Alliance) emerged victorious over the Tejashwi Yadav-Rahul Gandhi-led Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc in Bihar's battle for 40 Lok Sabha seats.


Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) won 12 out of the 16 seats they contested while the Bharatiya Janata Party also won as many seats of the 17 seats they contested. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) secured 5 seats.

The RJD won 4 seats, Congress won 3 seats, CPI(ML)(L) won 2 seats, and the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and an Independent candidate each won 1 seat.

In 2019, the NDA had secured 39 of the 40 seats.

Tejashwi Yadav criticized the Janata Dal (U) for compromising their ideology for power by allying with the BJP. He emphasized that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has neither compromised nor submitted to the BJP.

"Being in power is not the biggest thing. Our fight is for those who are weak & deprived...In Lok Sabha elections, our vote share increased by 9%, while NDA's vote share was reduced by 6%. Today, RJD has won 4 seats. We could have won more. Even then, our alliance has won 9 seats in this Lok Sabha polls..."
