PATNA: In a bid to score over rival Narendra Modi, RJD President Lalu Prasad today claimed that besides selling tea he paddled a cycle-rickshaw during school days.

"Do you know why I rode a cycle-rickshaw to Raj Bhawan today? Because I paddled a cycle-rickshaw while studying in Miller school," Prasad told reporters here.

With a large number of party workers and leaders walking behind him, the RJD chief paddled a cycle-rickshaw for two kilometre to Raj Bhawan from the Assembly to petition Governor D Y Patil against the Speaker recognising 13 RJD MLAs as a separate group.

Prasad had recently claimed he sold tea from his elder brother's shop in the Veterinary college area during childhood to eke out a living and keep up his studies.

He had raised questions on the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate selling tea during his childhood and claimed himself as the 'real' tea seller.

RJD workers have started 'Lalu chai dukaan' (Lalu Tea shop) in Muzaffarpur to provide free tea and biscuits to people to make them aware of the 'true colour' of Prasad and Narendra Modi.
