Rao, in a letter to Union Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, tendered his resignation as ASG, a post to which he was appointed by the NDA government.

NEW DELHI: Additional Solicitor General L Nageshwar Rao today resigned from his post.

Rao, in a letter to Union Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, tendered his resignation as ASG, a post to which he was appointed by the NDA government on June 7 for three years.

In his communication to Gowda, Rao did not give any reason for stepping down and said he has good relations with all law officers.

The senior advocate was also the law officer during the previous UPA rule from August 2013 to May 2014. He was also ASG for a brief period during the NDA regime in 2003 and had resigned in 2004.
